What do you want? Disappearing sand or high-fiving a bear?

Have you ever wanted to be in the Topsail Advertiser? I’m sure I could find a way to make it happen. Maybe you want to be one of our “people on the street” who lets us post your photo on a page alongside five of other local people who each give their own answer to the same question. Leave me a comment here, and we’ll see what we can do.

Or maybe you have achieved something admirable or done something sensational - like caught a giant fish or survived a fiery plane crash, or high-fived a Grizzly Bear. If so, let us know and maybe we’ll make you the story! The fun thing about Topsail Island is that enough good stuff happens that we always have an abundance of great material for you to read in the paper. And the thing that is even better than that is that we are still a small enough area that if you let us know about your story, we will usually have time to come out to you, take your picture and give you the write-up you deserve. (I might even spell your name right… if you’re nice and I’m on a lucky streak.)

Maybe you aren’t comfortable talking about yourself, but you know a great person who has a story that just has to be told. Well, tell us about them! I promise to stalk them (under the convenient excuse of “a free press”) until they talk to the paper about how great they are. And if you don’t want to leave the comment in a public forum, you can contact me privately through my e-mail at cwithers@freedomenc.com.  If you have a story, we have a way to tell it! Otherwise, I may just have to write another article on beach erosion. I’ll do it if I have to! I can go on and on about disappearing sand. But do you really want me to do that? Of course not. So give me some stories!
